Celebrations in Pacific

In the Pacific Ocean Islands, each nation has its own schedule of magnificent cultural experiences in the form of festivals. It has rich local culture and traditions in the songs, dances and feasts held throughout the festivities that have been passed on from generation to generation. Western tourism has influenced the Pacific Ocean urban cultures a great deal. The rural population is still rich in tradition and customs, which reflect in their festivals.
One of the greatest art celebrations of the world, the famous South Pacific Ocean Celebration of Arts, takes place every four years. Each island has a chance to host this celebration of dance and chants topped with the spectacular arrival of the canoe flotilla. Some of the interesting celebrations of the Pacific Ocean are the Folk Celebration at Woodford, Queensland Australia, which is one of the biggest annual cultural events incorporating a wide range of musical experiences, street theatre, film, arts and crafts and other special events. The celebration is held over six days and nights at many campsites.
Over a hundred tribes meet to perform dressed in feathers, mud, skirts and piercings for the Highlands show, which takes place in Papua New Guinea where the colourful shows of tribal dance and culture are the star of the show. Celebrations in Fiji like Bula, and Hibuscus have a special place in the celebrations of the Pacific. There are parades with marching bands and a beauty pageant for each different city. The Pacific Ocean islands are a great place for holidays with all their natural scenic beauty. This is enhanced by the celebrations of colour and joy.
