Travel around the Middle East
The Middle East, a subcontinent land mass, includes the nations of Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and the Palestinian territories, which are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. It is today a strategically, economically, politically, culturally, and religiously sensitive region.
The population of the Middle East has increased substantially in the last fifty years due to modern medicine and the acquisition of advanced agricultural techniques. The people also experienced high economic growth through the middle of the 1990s with an average annual rate of 2.4 percent.
